3 days wine tour on the Pelješac Peninsula and Korčula island







Best Croatian vineyards in 3 days
Pelješac peninsula is famous for its reds made from Plavac Mali, including the famous Dingac and Postup. Korčula island is renowned for its whites, such as Grk.
Day 1 – Pelješac Peninsula
Travel by plane from Marseille to Zadar.
Rent a car at Zadar airport to reach the Pelješac peninsula and Korčula island in 3 hours.
Visit the Miloš winery, a family estate run by Ivan and Josip. You will discover their unique and very personal work. They make organic wines which are pure, complex and exceptional.
Stroll through the salt pants of Ston and have dinner at a local restaurant called « Kapetanova kuća « in the fishing port of Mali Ston to try two specialities: oysters and black risotto.
Day 2 – Pelješac Peninsula
Visit the Grgić Vina in Trstenik, which is the most « Californian » of Croatia’s wineries. A place overlooking the sea, perfect to taste some outstanding Pošip (white) and Plavac Mali (red) wines.
Walk on the beaches of Zuljana and then have lunch in Trstenik in a seafood restaurant called « Konoba Vitaceae« overlooking the lovely fishing port.
Take the Dingač vineyard road along the sea between Trstenik and the Dingač tunnel. The view is incredible.
Cross the Dingač tunnel to reach Potomje and visit Matusko Vina. This winery offers a wide range of quality wines and an extraordinary tour of the huge cellars. Taste the best red wines : Dingač and Postup, but also a good Zinfandel.
Day 3 – Korčula
From Pelješac peninsula, take the ferry with your car to Korčula island where Korčula village is absolutely charming.
Go to Lumbarda, 10 minutes from the ferry station, where the speciality is Grk, a white wine, to be tasted at Bire Winery.
Then drive across the island to Vela Luka to see the vineyards of Čara and then Smokvica. Stop to meet the winemaker at Toreta Winery. The welcome is authentic and the terrace behind is relaxing and pretty.
Take the ferry back to Pelješac Peninsula and drive back to Zadar.
